NAPLES (ITALPRESS) – From the ashes of defeat at Bologna and the tumultuous national hiatus that followed, Napoli with rediscovered alchemy was reborn. At the ‘Maradonà stadium, Antonio Conte’s team beat Raffaele Palladino’s first Atalanta with a score of 3-1 and overtook in one night Roma and Inter, who will play tomorrow against Cremonese and Milan respectively. The Neapolitan coach changed formation (3-4-3) due to an emergency in the medical room and immediately received the expected response from the players examined: Neres (two goals) and Lang scored the first goals of the season and did so in a one-sided first half. In the 18th minute, the Brazilian striker took advantage of Hojlund’s pass, entered the penalty box and beat Carnesecchi with his left foot. In the 38th minute they doubled their lead: this time the assist came from McTominay, but the goal was also scored by Neres who beat the Bergamo goalkeeper with his left foot for the second time. Before the final whistle, there was still room for a hat trick: Di Lorenzo crossed from the right, Lang anticipated everyone and headed the ball to Carnesecchi. In the second half, Palladino made two substitutions: Ahanor and Pasalic came off, Kossounou and Scamacca came on. It was the Class of 1999 who reopened the match with a scissor kick into the penalty box following an assist from Bellanova. However, Atalanta’s angry reaction stopped here.
Napoli managed pace and space, but lost Hojlund with a suspected muscle injury to be evaluated ahead of the big game against Roma next Sunday at the Olimpico. That was the only discordant note for the Napoli team who found their smile again and won three points. However, there is still a lot to do for Raffaele Palladino who has to face a ranking situation that is far from Gasperin’s glory: thirteen points, only two wins and fourteen goals conceded. The next match against Fiorentina already looks like a derby filled with major disappointments.
