Seven albums in one year and a major tour the next: Thomas Anders temporarily pulled the strings. The singer needed a break after an intense year.
2025 is a very productive year for Thomas Anders. The 62-year-old released several albums – six of them as new editions of the classic Modern Talking. He uses his AI-generated younger self to support him. There were also numerous television appearances to accompany him celebrating the pop duo’s 40th anniversary.
The singer wants to tour again in spring 2026. The conclusion of the concert series is planned for March 28 in Vienna. After that everything should be over. “I have collected a lot of songs, but I will not release anything new next year,” he said in an interview with “schlager.de”. He would just “do his show” and “very little television.”
The break also makes sense from another point of view, Anders explains: “I think the market needs to calm down sometimes. Which artist has seven albums on the charts in a year? That’s good.”
“I need to rest,” Anders said. So there won’t be any new music next year. At the same time, he also announced that his break would not last long: “Something big is planned for 2027, but I don’t want to talk about it yet. But I think the idea is very good.”
Thomas Anders has been performing on stage since he was a child. The big success came in 1985 with Dieter Bohlen. The two performed as a musical duo under the name Modern Talking and became famous overnight. Their hit “You’re My Heart, You’re My Soul” is still played on the radio today and is very popular.
