In Vietnam there are now at least 90 deaths due to flooding

In Vietnam, after days of heavy rain, flooding has left at least 90 people dead, and 12 missing. In several regions of the country, rain has fallen almost non-stop since the end of October and the most severe flooding began on Thursday: 186 thousand houses and more than 800 square kilometers of crops and rice fields were damaged, while more than 3 million livestock and poultry died. On Friday the government said that 41 people had died, then the number rose: the most affected province was Dak Lak, where at least 60 people died. The intensity of the rain is expected to reduce on Sunday and the situation will slowly improve, although some places in the south-central part of the country are still flooded.

In recent months, Vietnam has been hit by two other extreme meteorological phenomena: within a few weeks various regions of the country were hit by typhoons Kalmaegi and Bualoi.
