A police officer was seriously injured in a traffic accident on Saturday evening in Sarcelles. The screen-printed patrol vehicle was hit by a speeding motorist. The collision occurred at 141, avenue de la Division-Leclerc. Firefighters were forced to release both drivers.
The person driving the police vehicle was taken in absolute emergency by Smur to the Beaujon hospital center, in Clichy (Hauts-de-Seine). He would have lost consciousness at the time of the crash, but his life was not in danger according to our initial information.
The other two victims were immediately transported to Gonesse and Eaubonne hospital centers. Two other people were not treated by emergency services.
Police crews have been called before to respond to accidents involving intoxicated people. They were looking for a location when they themselves had an accident.
According to preliminary information, the police officer was hit by a vehicle on one side, whose driver wanted to overtake and reversed too suddenly.
It is possible that the snow that started to fall contributed to reducing the driver’s visibility. The latter was placed in police custody.
