Ice, snow and cars rarely go together. Especially when the sun has set. For example, on the night of Saturday to Sunday in Eure, two cars hit an electricity pole.
According to information from Ici Normandie, the department’s emergency services intervened in around ten accidents between 8 p.m. and midnight on Saturday night. Two of them caused massive power outages.
Two people were injured
The first crash hit a power pole around 10 p.m., in the southernmost part of the department, not far from Garennes-sur-Eure. Inside were three people, including two young people who were slightly injured and taken to hospital. The immediate result: about twenty homes in the area were affected by the power outage, reports Here.
Then, at around 01.30, another similar accident occurred. In Saussay-la-Campagne this time, no one was injured but 280 homes were without power in the towns of Saussay-la-Campagne, Coudray and Puchay, reports Paris Normandie. Most importantly, Ici Normandie indicated that electricity poles were in danger of falling, department 316 in the sector had been cut off. Repairs are scheduled for noon.
