Even without its two injured top scorers, Alexandra Popp and Lineth Beerensteyn, VfL Wolfsburg continues its winning ways on foreign pitches in the women’s football Bundesliga. The Wolfsburg women’s team won 3-1 (2-0) at home to RB Leipzig and remained in second place in the standings. Cora Zicai (14) and Kessya Bussy (27) scored while Delice Boboy (42) conceded before the break. Svenja Huth (84) brought in the final point. It was the fifth win in the sixth away game of the season.
After their 5-2 Champions League win over Manchester United, VfL approached the match with extreme concentration and had no doubt from the start that they would also play their fifth competitive match against Leipzig want to win. With high pressure, Wolfsburg did not give RB’s women a moment’s peace. The goal came logically.
