Fire at nursing home – four residents lightly injured
A fire broke out in a room at night. Sometimes, 100 helpers were tasked with rescuing people and putting out fires.
Four people have been hospitalized after a fire at a care home in Grevenbroich. Shortly after midnight, the fire broke out in a room on the ground floor of the facility, the fire department said.
A nurse saved the room’s occupants from the fire. Firefighters took both of them out. Two other residents and staff are safe.
Helpers extinguished the burning room and checked other areas of the house. At times, about 100 emergency services were on site, and firefighting and clean-up work continued until Sunday morning, he said.
