“Because there are those who like their wives raw and there are those who like them cooked.” That was the shocking message of former senator Vincenzo D’Anna, 74, in a post published on Corriere della Sera’s Instagram profile reporting the testimony that Valentina Pitzalis – the woman who was badly burned and disfigured by fire during her ex’s 2011 attempted murder of the woman – gave on Friday to high school students in Milan and the province during an event in Arcimboldi.
The post was noticed and picked up – as we read in Corriere online – in a story on social media by journalist Selvaggia Lucarelli, who is closely following the 42-year-old Sardinian’s story. On Facebook, D’Aura herself again raised the issue by claiming what she wrote. “There are people who read but do not understand irony or sarcasm – he said in a post where he responded to the criticism -. My answer was to a question asked by an unfortunate woman who wanted to ask her late husband why he degraded her like that by burning her. Despite the naivety of the question asked, my answer was sarcastic. But the army of semi-illiterate moralists was angry”.
