Actress Annette Frier: “Groping is socially acceptable”

Actress and comedian Annette Frier condemned the abuse of power by men in the industry in previous years. “Groping, especially under the influence of alcohol, is in principle socially acceptable,” the 51-year-old told “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” at the weekend.
When he examined his memories for his new series “Frier and Fifty,” he was disappointed “to see how little objection was raised to such attacks, even from me.” Solidarity among women “was not high on the list of important things” at the time, Frier continued.
He is now “very worried” that the mood could change again after the success of the MeToo movement. “Just take the equality requirements that have been fought for over years of hard work and have now been abolished again in an instant at America’s largest corporations,” he said. “For us, the trend is going in the same direction.”
However, in his “unwavering naivety” he firmly believes that backward social models like US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin or Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban “will not win.”
