Iran’s intelligence ministry has warned of efforts by foreign enemies, including United States of America And Israelto attack Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameneiand destabilized the Islamic Republic. ISNA news agency reported that Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib warned that “the enemy seeks to attack the supreme leader, sometimes with assassination attempts, sometimes with hostile attacks.”
Tehran and the plan to “kill Khamenei”
While it was unclear whether the minister was referring to a specific incident, and Iranian officials often allege foreign plots, statements about threats to Khamenei’s life were rare before the 12-day war between Israel and Iran in June.
“Those who do this, whether they realize it or not, are enemy agents in disguise,” Khatib added, referring directly to Israel and the United States.
