A third Davis Cup in a row allowed Italy to pocket almost 30% of the overall prize money provided by the International Federation for the Davis Cup Final Eight, or 7 million dollars. The blue team will share 2 million dollars or around 1.74 million euros. 400 thousand euros more expensive than Spain, who lost in the final, taking home 1.3 million. The money will be shared between players, captains, staff and the Federation based on an internal agreement.
Semi-finalists earn half of the finalists’ earnings
The other 6 Bologna competition participants also went home with less important checks. The two semifinalists Belgium and Germany earned 750 thousand dollars or around 650 thousand euros. On the other hand, 430 thousand euros were awarded to the 4 losers in the quarter-finals, namely Austria, Czech Republic, France and Argentina.
