Russia’s war of aggression: Rubio raises hopes for revised peace plan

After consultations with representatives of Ukraine and European allies, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio demonstrated confidence in the revised version of the US peace plan. The talks produced a “fundamental document” that could now form the basis for further work, he told journalists present. Hours earlier, Rubio announced changes to his peace plan to end the war in Ukraine. “Excellent work results have been achieved, based on the contributions of all parties involved,” he said at a joint press conference with Ukrainian negotiator Andrij Yermak. He spoke of the first meeting being “very productive” and of making good progress. We are moving towards a just and lasting peace.

According to Yermak, the final decision will be made by “our president.” He thanked the United States and US President Donald Trump – who previously accused Kiev of a lack of gratitude.
