Actor Damian Hardung (27) is currently making many fans’ hearts beat fast in the romantic drama series “Maxton Hall”. And the Cologne medical student is also familiar with extraordinary physical conditions in his personal life: he has to deal with medical emergencies.
“It’s different when an emergency situation suddenly arises and there is someone lying there and not breathing and you start resuscitation,” he told the German Press Agency. “It’s a strange situation, but also a moment of self-efficacy when you realize that there is also a practical sense in understanding things theoretically.”
The actor, who became known as a teenager through the Vox series “Red Ribbon Club,” played the title role in the successful format “Maxton Hall.” The second season, which aired on Amazon Prime Video, is currently topping the US streaming service’s hit list in many countries.
Traumatic coils hit the body
The 27 year old player is currently in great demand. Some roles demand so much from him that he needs distance afterward. “I had a really good script last year, but it was a very traumatic role. I had just come off the second season of “Maxton Hall,” where I also went through a lot of grief and trauma with my character. And I couldn’t do it anymore,” Hardung explained. “I was really at a point where I no longer felt comfortable.”
He also took a six-month break last winter and sometimes hid from any cameras for months at a time. “I just wanted to find myself again, regardless of outside perception.” In 2026, the Cologne native can be seen among others in the film adaptation of Juli Zeh’s dystopian novel “Corpus Delicti”.
