The agency is investigating possible poison baiting in Sülfeld (Segeberg district) and the surrounding area POLICE in two cases for alleged violations of the Animal Welfare Act. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the Bad Segeberg police department at the request of the German Press Agency. “Kieler Nachrichten” (KN) has previously reported this.
This was the case on November 17 and November 21. According to the KN report, one dog died after being suspected of being poisoned, and another dog only survived after showing symptoms of poisoning. The allegedly poisonous bait was placed on a popular pedestrian path. Both cases were reported to the police.
The environmental squad of the highway police and district department has taken over the investigation. Police recommend that if such suspicions arise, dogs should only be leashed or muzzled. If you have any information about placing poison baits or have observed or noticed anything such as a walker pointing in this direction, you should contact police on 110. Any bait found should be collected and handed over to police. The Environmental Task Force also receives information on 04551-8843440.
