Anthony E. has caught up with his old demons. The young man suspected of fatally dropping Tessa Raimbault, in December 2018 in Julien-de-Concelles (Loire-Atlantique), has been in prison again since Monday, November 17, almost a month after failing the judicial control that prohibited him from driving any motor vehicle, according to our colleagues from Presse Océan.
Then at age 17, the high school student was hit by a fleeing driver. Untraceable for years, Anthony E. was discovered in June 2023, after the teenager’s mother appeared on the M6 program “Call for Witnesses”.
Charged with capital murder following a hit-and-run and placed in pre-trial detention, he was eventually released and then placed under court supervision in February 2024, with legal obligations to be respected. The young man, who is now 27 years old, is prohibited from driving a car.
“I can not stand”
Except that on October 19, Anthony E. was caught driving with almost 2 g of alcohol per liter of blood on the road in the Vendée, where he lives. He was therefore immediately tried at La-Roche-sur-Yon, as part of a previous guilty plea, as an act of admission of guilt.

Crime story tells major criminal cases every week.
“The judicial review proposed against him in the context of the Nantes investigative file has been revoked by our judge of liberty and detention and he is therefore in custody”, confirmed to Le Figaro Antoine Leroy, Nantes public prosecutor, stating that the file will be referred to the criminal court at a date still to be determined.
This new information, in a case that has had several twists and turns, has nevertheless reopened wounds between Tessa’s parents. “Reading that this young person was driving drunk made me dive in. It reveals how damaged she was by this life. At the same time, I am relieved that there were no other accidents. Luckily. I couldn’t help it,” wrote her mother, Florence, on a Facebook page dedicated to her daughter’s memory.
Since that night in December 2018, Anthony E. has been silent for years, experiencing depression and trying to forget the tragedy through alcohol. When he was identified in 2023, it was thanks to the trust he placed in some of his friends during an alcoholic night.
