Fabio Salandri, protagonist of the song ‘Amico del Quore’ by Achille Lauro, was sentenced on appeal to 13 years and three months for attempted murder. The judge of the first criminal division of the Rome Court of Appeal reduced the sentence of his cousin, Marco Antoniucci, to 13 years compared to the 15 years of the sentence in the first instance. The facts took place in February 2023 and the two, who were arrested in June of the same year, were charged with attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons because “after breaking into the house” of Marco Canali in Tufello, they fired “numerous shots” in his leg “touching him in the femoral artery, where a vital blood vessel is” as stated in the indictment, “thus committing acts worthy of causing his death.”
Salandri is the protagonist of the hit video ‘Amico del Quore’, a 2016 song dedicated to him by Achille Lauro, which has absolutely nothing to do with the investigation. “We are waiting to read the reasons and we will evaluate the appeal to the Court of Cassation” commented lawyer Emilio Losso, who defended the two cousins, to Adnkronos.
