The White House is in the holiday spirit. First Lady Melanya Trump received the official Christmas tree in a small ceremony. The tree was brought to the White House grounds in a horse-drawn carriage. Melania circled the train, wearing a white coat and long red gloves. “It’s a nice Christmas tree,” he said. The Christmas tree is placed in the Blue Room of the White House.
Meanwhile, all of America is preparing for the big family festival of Thanksgiving, where turkey is traditionally eaten on Thursday. The ceremony at the White House in which a turkey is “pardoned” is also a traditional ceremony. This year the Gobble and Waddle turkeys were selected. Melania Trump asked the public to vote on which turkey to choose for Tuesday’s ceremony.
However, Gobble and Waddle were provided with a nice hotel during their time in Washington. You’ll spend the night at the luxurious Willard InterContinental Hotel right by the White House. After the ceremony, both turkeys will return to North Carolina, where they will spend the rest of their lives safely on a farm.
