Andreas Wellinger (30), however, is not satisfied. The 2014 and 2018 Olympic champion was eliminated in 40th place after the first round. The day before, Wellinger failed to qualify. Wellinger later: “It’s German for donkey, which is what I’m doing right now. I’m hanging around the corner like a dead bird, there’s no lightness in it. I could be an expert downhill skier right now, but not in ski jumping.”
Dan: “It’s definitely a challenge right now. I’ve faced a lot of challenges in my ski jumping career and now there’s one more challenge that needs to be solved. I also know that it can be solved.”
