On Monday, witnesses alerted rescue workers because they heard screams coming from an apartment. Officers found one person dead inside the apartment. A 49-year-old man was arrested in the room. There was a major operation because of that scream.
Many questions remain unanswered
After witnesses alerted police, it was said there was a man in the apartment who “appeared to be in a state of psychological emergency.” Because it was possible that the man had access to dangerous objects or weapons, special forces entered the apartment at around 18.15. and arrested troublemakers, according to police. The man was slightly injured.
Police and public prosecutors said that when they searched the apartment, they found a lifeless man. “The background to the cause of death is not yet known,” said investigators. It was initially unclear whether one or both men lived in the apartment. Likewise, whether it was a homicide and whether a weapon was found.
The station forecourt was partially closed
Emergency services have cordoned off much of the area. This apartment is close to the train station, so part of the forecourt of Bruchsal train station was also affected. According to a railway spokesperson, train traffic is not affected and access to the tracks is still possible.
