Frozen Elsa, her sister Anna and their best friend Olaf move to Disneyland Paris. On March 29, 2026, the adjacent Walt Disney Studios Park will open a new “Frozen World” area. Twelve years after the release of the first film, the world of the Ice Queen and her friends will come to life with a permanent place in the park’s landscape. The two films released so far, “Frozen – Completely Unabashed” and “Frozen – Party Fever” are among the most successful animated films of all time.
The company announced the premiere date Monday night with a big drone show at Anna and Elsa’s home in Arendelle. Amid cold rain and spotlights, character actresses step in front of the camera while snowflakes and patterns appear in the background. Shortly before, the snowman Olaf also walked in front of the audience as a living robot.
When it opens in 2026, Walt Disney Studios Park will also change its name and will eventually be called Disney Adventure World. In a large-scale investment project costing around two billion euros, the park has almost doubled in size in recent years. Another themed world based on “The Lion King,” which was released as an animated film in theaters in 1994, is still under construction.
A lake and drone show
For the world of Frozen, the park created, among other things, a three-acre lake, planted cypress trees in the surrounding area, and built the huge North Mountain from the film – which was hand-painted and 36 meters high. Merchandise is also sold at the two stores.

As usual at Disneyland next door, speakers around the lake played the film’s music on a loop. The new soundtrack was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London for the newly created promenade, at the end of which lies the Ice Queen’s kingdom.
Visitors can see Elsa’s ice palace from afar, but cannot visit it. To do this, the sisters opened the castle on the shore of the lake and met their subordinates. The boat ride takes you through women’s history. “Snow Flower Festival” forms the framework and reminds us that Anna sacrificed herself for Elsa’s survival in the first film.
Show experts Euro Disney, who manage the theme park, organize boat parades several times a day, accompanied by special effects and music. It was written by film composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. There will be a light show in the evening. Some 279 drones are being used, as well as fireworks, explains producer Ben Spalding. The 360 degree floating stage concept ensures the same perspective from all angles.
The hype surrounding the world of Frozen has been going on since the first film was released. The new subject areas will probably continue until the third part of the series hits theaters in late 2027.
