Berlin – The decision was unanimous: the square in front of the Berlin Chamber of Deputies should be named “Margot-Friedländer-Platz 1”. According to BILD information, the executive board decided on this on Tuesday.
The Holocaust survivor died in May at the age of 103. He was buried in the Jewish cemetery in Berlin-Weissensee.

Got it in Charlottenburg CDU and the Green Party called an urgent motion at the BVV in May to dedicate a previously unnamed area near Kurfürstendamm to him.
Shortly after his death, there was also a proposal to name Skalitzer Straße after him. Margot Friedländer lived here, in house number 32, from 1941 until her mother and brother were deported to Auschwitz in 1943. She hid until she was betrayed in 1944.
