After more than a month of secret tracking and surveillance, the perpetrator of the latest theft of this century at the Louvre was arrested. According to our information, a fourth person was arrested this Tuesday morning in the Paris region by investigators of the Bandit Suppression Brigade (BRB) of the Judicial Police Directorate of the Paris Police Prefecture (DPJ-PP) following a letter of apology from the investigating judge.

He was placed in police custody specifically for “organized gang theft” and “criminal association” at the PJ Paris location. This man is already known to the police and will be linked to three other men who have been charged and jailed in connection with the case, all of whom are from or domiciled in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis).

Jewelry is always sought after

According to video surveillance images, it was the four men who carried out the daring heist on October 19 at France’s most famous museum in Paris. Using a truck-mounted basket, two of them entered the Apollo gallery and, using a grinder, removed the precious jewels of the French crown for a loot estimated at 88 million euros but with unfathomable historical damage. There are sets with many diamonds and precious stones.

The other two criminals remain outside the museum to prepare for the team’s escape. Traces of the commando were then lost in the Paris area. DNA tests quickly made it possible to arrest the two men who entered the museum – Ayed G., who was preparing to fly to Algeria, and Abdoulaye N. – who was then a third person, Slimane K., who was suspected of riding one of the two scooters used in the heist. Therefore, the new suspect arrested this Tuesday will be the fourth person on the team.
