French authorities on Tuesday arrested a man accused of being the fourth member of the group that carried out the October 19 theft of Louvre Museum jewels, which have not yet been recovered.

According to the newspaper Le Parisien, The arrest was made in the Paris region and the man, who already had a criminal record, is accused of robbery in an organized criminal conspiracy. With this, the police have already arrested seven people, including the four responsible for the robbery.

On October 26, two suspects were arrested and taken into police custody as part of the open investigation into “robbery by an organized gang” and “association of criminals with the aim of committing a crime.” Additionally, on October 30, police arrested five more people suspected of participating in the theft of the French Crown Jewels from the Louvre on Sunday, October 19. Investigators from the Banditry Repression Brigade (BRB) arrested the men in Paris’ 16th arrondissement and the Sein-Sain-Denis department, according to Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau. The value of the stolen jewels amounts to approximately 88 million euros.
