To clarify the anonymous tip against the state hospital, a final report from the designated law firm should be ready by the end of the year. “Fact clarification is progressing well, but it is not yet complete,” a lawyer from a Koblenz law firm reported to the state parliament’s health committee.
According to the law firm, the anonymous tips relate to the managing director’s reporting obligations to the supervisory board, separation of employees, provision of services and balance sheets. So far there has been no reason to terminate the managing director’s initial contract and there is no internal obligation for the supervisory board to act, according to the law firm tasked with carrying out the audit.
Once completed on December 31, the final report will first be discussed with the supervisory board and then possibly presented to the health committee in January (13), said lawyer and health minister Clemens Hoch (SPD).
Seven witnesses and the managing director were interviewed in detail
Seven witnesses were questioned in detail regarding the anonymous allegations, for an average of two hours. The attorney reported that we spoke with the defendant’s managing director for almost four hours and there was another conversation with him scheduled for December. In addition, many documents and employment contracts were viewed. The law firm started work in mid-July.
Anonymous tips relate to four points
The “often general nature of the allegations” from the two email accounts should first be made more concrete in communications with the complainant; one of them answers the question.
According to estimates, all 30 state hospital sites are running a deficit, the state health secretary and chair of the state hospital oversight board, Nicole Steingaß (SPD), told the committee. But no one should worry about their jobs or public health care, Hoch said at an earlier committee meeting.
