Milan, November 25 (Adnkronos) – On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, today in Milan the historic Palazzina degli Orafi, headquarters of the Fiera Milano Foundation, will be lit up in red. A sign that the Foundation wants to reaffirm the need to maintain a high level of attention to a topic that continues to represent a social emergency. The FFM itself stated this, underlining that the figures confirm the seriousness and pervasiveness of gender violence in our country: around 6 million to 400 thousand Italian women between the ages of 16 and 75 have suffered at least one form of physical or sexual violence during their lives. In detail, 18.8% experienced physical violence, while 23.4% experienced sexual violence.

“On a day like this – explains the president of the Fiera Milano Foundation, Giovanni Bozzetti – it is important to reaffirm that everyone, in their respective roles, has a duty to contribute to the building of a culture based on respect and protection. Illuminating our headquarters is a simple gesture, but it represents our commitment to raising awareness in society and to remembering that violence is not a personal problem: it is a collective wound, which requires responsibility, awareness and concrete action.”

Fondazione Fiera Milano, which has always been connected to the region through strong mutual relations, strengthens its commitment to promoting equality and social integration, which are essential elements for community development. Through initiatives aimed at fostering inclusion and reducing inequalities, the Foundation places social innovation at the center of its work, supporting high-impact projects and collaborating with agencies and institutions. The recent global social emergency has underscored this call, which will continue to guide its future activities, with particular attention to the most vulnerable groups. With this initiative, the Foundation finally renews its participation in awareness campaigns against all forms of violence and discrimination, and puts forward a message of solidarity and respect.
