Summary. On October 30, Le Parisien published a series of articles about pleasure ultrasounds. Non-medical ultrasounds, offered to expectant parents by entrepreneurs, with the promise of a highly realistic souvenir photo and information about the gender or appearance of the unborn baby.
This practice is illegal because only doctors and midwives are authorized to carry out ultrasound examinations. However, many people start this profitable business, without any training and risk giving a false diagnosis to their prospective parents.
Marie Campistron and Elsa Mari, journalists in Le Parisien’s Privacy department, investigate this phenomenon and tell the story behind their investigation in this episode of Code Source.
