Rapper Freeze Corleone will go on trial next February “apology for terrorism” before the criminal court of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes) for comments made in his song Haaland referring to the attack on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice in 2016, the city’s prosecutor’s office announced on Tuesday in a press release.

An investigation was opened in early 2024, following a complaint from the assault victims’ association, “Living for Good”which left 86 people dead. In this song, Freeze Corleone says the words: “in my defense Kalidou, you Lenglet. Burberry is like the British grandfather. I come rapping like a bomb truck…”the prosecutor recalled.

“After several fruitless calls, the interpreter (…) was heard today (Tuesday) as part of a free hearing. He asserted his right to remain silent and refused to answer the questions asked”explained the prosecutor in his press release. “After analyzing the elements gathered in the investigation and at the end of today’s hearing, he was informed of the summons to appear before the Criminal Court of Nice, on February 16, 2026, for acts of advocating terrorism using online public communication services”.
