Winter weather continues to control the southern and eastern regions

Winter weather continues, especially in the south and east of Germany. In the High Black Forest, Upper Lusatia and Erzgebirge, among others, there will be snow, frost and slippery conditions today, as announced by the German Weather Service (DWD). In southern Germany, up to ten centimeters of fresh snow is expected by midday, even in flatter areas.
In the east from Lusatia to the Ore Mountains, seven centimeters of fresh snow is expected. According to DWD, snowfall and cold temperatures increase the risk of slippery conditions in southern and eastern areas in the morning.
In the north and west, temperatures will be slightly cooler, as on Tuesday. It will be very cold here, especially in the low mountains, and it will be wet and cold in the flatter areas, he said. Strong gusts with wind speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour are expected in the North Sea overnight.
