Estimated DWD
Grey, wet, cold – the weather in the southwest remains uncomfortable
Typical November weather in the middle of the week: DWD is predicting lots of rain and little sunshine in the southwest. The snow line will likely fall.
It’s gray and cold outside, even cozier inside: If you want to enjoy the season before Christmas, you’ll get the right backdrop in the coming days. According to the German Weather Service (DWD), the weather remained gray in Baden-Württemberg and snow fell in some areas.
According to DWD, the weather could remain very cloudy on Wednesday, with occasional rain or snow at moderate altitudes. The snowfall limit drops to around 400 to 600 meters during the day. There will likely be fresh snow in the Black Forest and Alb. Between 5 and 10 centimeters are possible there. But even in Upper Swabia, it can be slippery in the morning.
Maximum temperatures range between 0 degrees frost in the mountains and 5 degrees in the Rhine valley. Thursday night brings the risk of slippery conditions at 0 to minus 5 degrees in some areas – either due to freezing moisture or a little fresh snow. This is particularly impacting southern regions, according to DWD experts.
The sun appears before the first weekend of Advent
The weather will also remain cloudy in many places on Thursday, often accompanied by dense fog. According to the weather forecast, the sun will only appear more in the afternoon. Even so, the temperatures remain cool: the maximum temperature is reached in the Rhine Valley, while in the mountains it remains around 0 degrees. At night it could get very cold again if the skies are clear – temperatures of up to minus 8 degrees are possible in southeastern Upper Swabia.
The dry trend will continue on Friday, with sunshine in many places. However, according to DWD, fog could remain along the Danube, Rhine and Lake Constance in the morning. “There was also a few hours of sunshine there,” the meteorologist said. There is a threat of new rain coming from the west towards the weekend.
