US envoy Steve Witkoff will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin next week in Moscow to discuss plans to find a way out of the war in Ukraine. American President Donald Trump stated this, also mentioning the possible presence of his son-in-law. “Steve Witkoff will go, probably with Jared (Kushner). I’m not sure if Jared will go, but he’s involved in the process, he’s a smart guy, and they’re meeting with President Putin, I think, next week in Moscow,” said the White House resident, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One en route to Florida. The tycoon, who appears to have given up on setting an “official date” for Moscow’s approval of the peace plan, simply stated, referring to the conflict, “I want this conflict to end” but whether this will happen, he added, “we won’t know for a while, but yes, we are making progress”.

Previously, Trump had set Russia’s deadline for the agreement reached with Kiev on Thursday, but now, as already mentioned, he has decided to take another path and when asked about this, he answered: “Do you know what the deadline is for me? When it ends”. Donald hinted that there are still some critical issues in the territorial issue that “they are trying to find solutions to, but it is a complicated process”. However, according to the president, Russia “has made concessions. Their biggest concession is to stop fighting and not take any more land.”

Trump also announced that Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, after holding talks with Russia in Abu Dhabi, will now meet with Ukraine, after which the tycoon hopes to meet Putin and Zelensky, but not before a clearer deal. Meanwhile, Kiev confirmed that Driscoll is expected to appear “this weekend.” In a message published on his social network Truth yesterday evening, the White House tenant clarified that the initial draft of the peace plan, consisting of 28 points, had been “adjusted” and “refined” with the contributions of both parties, leaving “only a few points of disagreement”. After their missions to Russia and Ukraine, “Steve Witkoff and Dan Driscoll will then brief Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. I look forward – added Trump – to meeting with President Zelensky and President Putin soon, but ONLY if an agreement to end this war is FINAL or close to completion.”
