Israel confirmed, Wednesday, November 26, that it had received on Tuesday one of the last three remaining hostages held in the Gaza Strip, saying that the remains handed over by Hamas and its ally Islamic Jihad belonged to Israelis.
“At the end of the identification process by the National Forensic Medicine Center”army representative “notify the family of the deceased captive, Dror Or, that their loved ones have been returned to Israel”explained a press release from the Israeli Prime Minister’s office.
Head chef and cheese maker at the Kibbutz Beeri dairy, Dror Or was killed on October 7, 2023 at the age of 48 during an attack by Hamas and its allies against Israel, and his body was taken to Gaza. With the handover of his body, two October 7 hostages remain in Gaza: an Israeli and a Thai.
