Electronic warfare factory as target

Russian Telegram channels reported that the VNIIR Progress factory in Cheboksary was hit. The institute develops electronic warfare systems, including the Kometa antenna, which can jam satellite, radio and radar signals. The factory is under sanctions from the US and EU.

The facility was the target of a Ukrainian drone attack in June, which caused a large explosion and fire. At that time, the Ukrainian General Staff stated that it wanted to weaken Russia’s ability to produce precision weapons components.
