Donald Trump and Melania Trump today celebrated Thanksgiving, the American Thanksgiving holiday, by “decorating” two turkeys at the White House, a tradition that began in 1947 when the president was Harry Truman. Then they will fly to Mar-a-Lago, where they will stay until Sunday for the Thanksgiving holiday. The only public event currently scheduled is participation in a call with the military on Thursday evening.

Melania’s appearance

As usual, the First Lady looked perfect wearing a brown suit, the color of the season.

She paired a brown knit turtleneck with a tweed pencil skirt by Ralph Lauren and a shiny bomber jacket by Los Angeles-based Danish designer Anine Bing.

Top Gun style bomber jacket

The “Top Gun”-style jacket is similar to the leather version he wore last month during a visit to Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, Virginia, as part of a fleet honors celebration. She paired her look with a pair of brown leather heels from Manolo Blahnik.

Trump Thanksgiving

This was the 78th annual Thanksgiving Türkiye Delivery Ceremony; This is also the fifth time Trump has pardoned two turkeys, leaving two lucky birds from Thursday night’s feast. In previous years, the first lady has worn elegant outerwear to the event, including a Stella McCartney floral brocade coat in 2017 and a $9,000 color-block Dior coat with black Christian Louboutin boots in 2018. For the 2019 ceremony she wore a brown Burberry trench coat, and in 2020 a Dolce & Gabbana wool houndstooth coat with brown and black stilettos by Manolo Blahnik. Today President Trump pardoned a turkey named Gobble. His partner, Waddle, was unable to attend. Tonight the Trump family will board Air Force One and depart for Mar-a-Lago to celebrate Thanksgiving with their extended family.
