Mourning at the home of the famous 75 year old British businessman Richard Bransonfamous for its incredibly rich heritage, lifestyle eccentricity and spirit of adventure. In fact, his wife, Joan Templeman, his life partner and the only constant point in his entire existence for half a century, died at the age of 80. He made the announcement himself in messages on social media and on the website of Virgin, his historic company, where he stated he was “heartbroken”. Sir Richard remembered his wife – married in 1989 after several years together and with whom he has two children and five grandchildren – with poignant words. Admits it was “love at first sight” when he first met her, when she was working in an antiques shop, and soon understood that “this humble Scottish woman would never be impressed by my usual mannerisms”. Thus, the founder of airline Virgin Atlantic, space tourism company Virgin Galactic and satellite launch company Virgin Orbit mourned on behalf of the entire family “the most wonderful partner, friend, mother and grandmother we could ever hope for”.
