Due to the attack with a metal bar on two justice officers, a 26-year-old prisoner was found guilty, among other things, of attempted murder at the regional court in Cottbus. The panel sentenced him to a total of 14 years in prison, a court spokesman said. Therefore, the court followed the public prosecutor’s request.

Last year, the young man brutally attacked two correctional officers with a metal bar in his cell at the Cottbus-Dissenchen penitentiary. Both suffered serious injuries. One of the officers is still unfit for duty to date. The decision is not final.
