The Guardia Civil has arrested a 28-year-old man accused of killing his partner, a 25-year-old woman, in the house they shared in Campillos (Málaga), sources close to the investigation told EFE. According to these sources, the man went to the headquarters of the Civil Guard in Martos (Jaén) around 1pm. this Wednesday to confess that he could have killed his partner this morning.
The Guardia Civil went to the Campillos address provided by the man and verified that the woman was dead with signs of strangulation and arrested him.
So far this year, 38 women were killed by their partners or ex-partners. Since official statistics began in 2003, there are 1,333 women. Last Saturday’s murder also remains to be confirmed, again in Malaga, in the Rincón de la Victoria, which is being investigated as sexist violence.
