The world’s strongest woman is “biologically a man” and was stripped of the title she won in Arlington, Texas. The American woman triumphed in the Strongwoman competition Jamie Bookerwho beat the 43 year old British tennis player Andrea Thompson after scheduled tests: from lifting a trunk to lifting a large stone, from a regular deadlift to lifting a very heavy bag of sand.
Event organizers, the British press reported, revealed that they had “disqualified” Booker. The American athlete presented himself as transgender. However, those responsible for the demonstrations took action.
“It appears that a biologically male athlete who now identifies as female was competing in the Women’s Open category. Official Strongman officials were unaware of this prior to the competition and we have immediately investigated since we were notified. An attempt has been made to contact the competitors involved, but we have not received a response,” the statement continued. The organization added that executives were aware of Booker’s alleged gender identity “This athlete will not be allowed to compete in the Women’s Open category”.
In fact, Booker’s presence sparked protests since the event started. Thompson, the second runner-up, stepped off the podium after the winner was announced: “This is bullshit,” he hissed as Booker celebrated on the top step.
Rebecca Roberts, three-time winner of World’s Strongest Woman, spoke in a post: “My message is simple. Transgender people have their own place in sport, but the women’s category must remain reserved exclusively for those born biologically female“. Booker, who immediately after the event celebrated the victory with a post, congratulated his opponents: “You are all very tough women, and it was an honor to share the stage with you and be there cheering for you and supported by you.” After the storm, the athlete’s profile on Instagram became private.
