A A 19-year-old Italian was stabbed on the side of the Annibaldi bridge, a few meters from the Colosseum in Rome, by another boy who first tried to sell him cigarettes and then received a delivery of 10 euros.. It happened the night between last Monday and Tuesday. The attacker, an 18-year-old Tunisian with no fixed address, was arrested for attempted robbery by police who tracked him down the same evening at the intersection of via Amendola and via Gioberti. The injured man refused to be taken to hospital and went for treatment himself. It’s not serious.
Based on what officers reconstructed, the 19-year-old teenager and several friends were taking photos on the Annibaldi bridge when two young men approached asking if they wanted to buy cigarettes. The children refused and at that point the 18-year-old Tunisian teenager, wearing a white hooded sweatshirt over his head, asked the 19-year-old to give him ten euros. When the boy refused, the 18-year-old pulled a knife from his sleeve and stabbed him in the left side. He then headed towards his friends who managed to escape and attracted the attention of a police crew from the Esquilino police station.
Police immediately called 118 and provided first aid to the boy, then began searching for the attacker who was tracked down at around 1.30am. Police also confiscated a folding knife with a 7 cm long blade that he had hidden in his sleeve. Taken to Viminale police station, the 18 year old teenager was recognized by the victim and arrested.
