Berlin/Washington – The disclosure of secret telephone call recordings caused a stir in Trump’s circle. Now the party who listened to the conversation and released it to the US press must be found.

It’s about two recordings published by “Bloomberg”. The first photo shows two Kremlin advisers discussing their approach to Ukraine’s negotiations with the US. In the second part, you can hear Trump’s negotiator, Steve Witkoff, giving advice to Putin’s adviser, Yuri Ushakov, on how and when the Russian dictator should call US President Donald Trump.

Two Republican lawmakers sharply criticized Witkoff and called for him to be removed from negotiations or even fired. But a very different demand is being made by those around US President Donald Trump: Find and punish the mole!

▶︎ “Find the leaker and fire him immediately,” wrote Richard Grenell, former ambassador to Germany, in X. “There is no excuse. Anonymous leakers pose a risk to national security.”

▶︎ “Enough is enough!” President Donald Trump Jr.’s son wrote. in

The statement could indicate that US President Donald Trump has decided to stick with Witkoff. It is still unclear who the actor was who wiretapped the US politician and Kremlin advisor. A US secret service? Ukrainian? Or Russian?

Republicans: “This is unacceptable!”

Other Republicans have been less kind to Trump’s advisers than to the president’s entourage. Republican Brian Fitzpatrick (51) publicly condemned Witkoff’s behavior: “This is a huge problem. And one of the many reasons why these ridiculous spectacles and secret meetings must stop. Let Secretary of State Marco Rubio do his job fairly and objectively.”

MP Don Bacon – himself a former general – followed up. In his tweet he made it clear: “For those who oppose the Russian invasion and want Ukraine to prevail as a sovereign and democratic country, it is clear that Witkoff is clearly on Russia’s side. He cannot be trusted to lead these negotiations. Would an agent paid by Russia do worse than him? He should be fired.”
