17 years ago, a famous businessman renovated an old country house in Altenstadt-Illereichen, a small town between Ulm and Memmingen. The building became a magnificent villa with a park-like garden. During Pentecost 2025, the businessman received visitors there with his wife and 16-year-old daughter: his wife’s 15-year-old niece. He spends holidays with family.

The villa was under surveillance before the crime
What the villa’s residents didn’t know: They were being targeted by a group of robbers. The people were likely planning to attack the family on Whit Saturday, June 7 2025.
Apparently the house had been under surveillance for a long time. The three perpetrators knew that a family of three lived there. And they assume that the successful businessman keeps a lot of money in his house.
The first break-in attempt was aborted
But they probably didn’t expect the population to increase by one person on Whit Saturday. They spontaneously decided to cancel their plans. As they retreated to the village road, a neighbor noticed them. He saw them get into the gray station wagon – probably an Opel – that was waiting for them.
According to a witness, the perpetrator used the Opel Caravan to carry out a robbery in Altenstadt-Illereichen.

Access is provided via patio doors
After the family drove to a neighboring village for dinner in two sports cars on Whit Sunday, four perpetrators broke into the property later that evening. They seized the moment when the family dog was roaming the garden and, masked and armed with a gun, gained access through the open terrace door.
The family was attacked and tied up on their return
When they returned, the residents were attacked and tied up one by one by the perpetrator. While one of the perpetrators was on guard, his accomplice went looking for the loot. They did not find any large amounts of cash in the house.
Instead, they collect whatever falls into their hands: more or less valuable jewelry and decorations, clothes, wallets containing some money and personal papers, cell phones. They packed their loot into several suitcases and travel bags they found in the house.

After two hours, they tied everyone in the house to lawn chairs in the teenager’s room on the second floor and dragged their loot out of the house. The person who picked him up was probably waiting again in a gray car on the main road a few hundred meters away. The perpetrator managed to escape undetected while the victim freed himself and called the police.
The crime scene is located in Illereichen, a district in Altenstadt. Located between Ulm and Memmingen on the A7.
