A national police officer is in critical condition after being shot by a man who was barricaded in a warehouse on Isla Mayor (Seville), according to sources in the operation.
Around 7 am, the National Police surrounded the aforementioned warehouse, located on the Camino de Toruño, between Isla Mayor and Aznalcázar, a structure that had initially been used as a “drug asylum”.
Emergencies 112 Andalucía reported that at 7.25am the notification arrived that a national police officer had been seriously injured by a gunshot in this event, so a team from 061 was sent to the scene, which evacuated the officer to the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville, where he is undergoing emergency surgery.
Around the warehouse where the barricade is located, a National Police device remains, supported by the Civil Guard and the Local Police, also monitored by aerial teams.
