This will be a collection of farewells, in the silence and affection of his loved ones, to Maestro Peppe Vessicchio, the conductor who represents one of the most beloved faces of Italian music, also thanks to his persistent presence on the podium of the Sanremo Festival. The funeral will take place today, Monday 10 November in Rome, at 15.00, in the church of Santi Angeli Custodi in Piazza Sempione, in the Roman neighborhood where Vessicchio lived for many years.
The family – his wife Enrica Mormile, his daughter Alessia, his granddaughter Teresa, and his great-granddaughters Alice and Caterina – have requested “secrecy” and have informed that the funeral service will be held privately.
Peppe Vessicchio, 69 years old, died at the San Camillo hospital in Rome on Saturday November 8, due to rapidly worsening interstitial pneumonia. Beside him, until the end, were the people he loved most. His life dedicated to music was lived with a wisdom and sensitivity that made him a reference point in the world of art and television. Behind her graceful baton and gentle smile, a musician is able to cross genres and generations, leaving a deep imprint on the collective imagination. (From Paolo Martini)
