Worldwide, 92% of the population now has adequate access to electricity

From 1998, when global data first became available, to 2023, access to electricity has increased worldwide. Ourworldindata has developed, based on data provided by the World Bank, an indicator to measure this phenomenon. It turns out that the percentage of the population using electricity sources capable of meeting basic needs has increased from 73% in 1998 to 92% in 2023.
