Moussa Sangarè described in court: ‘I did not kill Sharon’ – News

Moussa Sangare, the 31-year-old man jailed on charges of stabbing Sharon Verzeni to death on the night of 29 and 30 July 2024 in Terno d’Isola, was tried in court in Bergamo and, contrary to his previous confession, denied any wrongdoing: “I was passing by on my bicycle – he said – and I saw Sharon arguing with a man. I understood that the affair would end badly and I didn’t want to get into this situation, I accelerated and left. Then I became paranoid because I I saw something I shouldn’t see, so I put away my clothes and knife.”

“The police told me” was the prosecutor’s response when he was told he had confessed to the crime. Sangare stated that he was caught on camera as he passed by, but there was nothing that depicted him hitting the victim: “In my opinion, Terno is one who knows how to avoid cameras, I only confessed because I was stressed and I thought that this way they would let me go.” As for traces of Sharon’s DNA mixed with his own, which were found on the bike he was using that night, he replied: “This is the only thing I can’t explain.”

“Despite having every opportunity, he does not want to apologize, but prefers to say that he was not the guilty party. This regrets us greatly: we just want justice to be served because we have seen that he has no remorse and this hurts us very much,” said Bruno Verzeni, Sharon’s father as he left the Bergamo court. Sharon’s father seemed very disappointed with what happened in the courtroom.
