The fall of Tim Davie illustrates the failure of the “woke” BBC.


LThe BBC’s historic headquarters, just a stone’s throw from Oxford Circus, looks like an old ocean liner washed up on a beach that might have inspired Monty Python. But as the announcement of the resignations of the UK’s director general of the public service, Tim Davie, and chief information officer Deborah Turness on Sunday night proved, the stately edifice is more reminiscent of a Mogador-style cardboard decoration than the symbol of an institution renowned, abroad as in Britain, for its measured, balanced and thoughtful information. The ancient place, where nothing has been reworked except paint since the founding of “Bibi”, hides a drunken boat.
