One of his songs was used in a government video supporting the deportation policy and he became furious. We’re talking about pop stars Olivia Rodrigo and fromTrump administration. The video, published on the official accounts of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the White House on Instagram, calls on undocumented immigrants to spontaneously leave the US and the soundtrack is part of An all-American bitchsong by a Filipino singer who immediately commented: “You should not use my song to promote your racist and hateful propaganda.”
The comment has since been deleted but screenshots were quicker and the pop star’s words went viral, leading Instagram to remove the soundtrack from the video. In the past, Rodrigo has taken a stand against the Trump administration: “I have lived in Los Angeles my whole life and I am deeply troubled by the violent deportation of my neighbors. LA wouldn’t exist without immigrants. Treating hardworking members of society with little respect, empathy and fairness is appalling.”
