Rome 10 November (Adnkronos) – “I reiterate my solidarity with Ranucci, humane, sincere, wholehearted, but this does not prevent us from criticizing the style and methods that fall into the category of militant journalism. As can be seen from the minutes of the Mitrokin commission, the Soviet Union funded several newspapers in Italy to carry out the so-called disinformatja: among these newspapers there was also ‘Paese sera’. Guess which newspaper the journalist Ranucci started his brilliant career with: he started precisely from ‘Paese sera’, it turns out misinformation is still in his blood.” This was stated by Federico Mollicone, deputy of the Fratelli d’Italia and president of the Chamber’s Cultural commission, during a discussion in the Chamber regarding the press freedom motion submitted by the 5 Star Movement.
“We will submit a majority motion – Fdi representatives later announced – to protect the good journalism, the quality of information, the true impartiality, the true pluralism that we have always protected and defended.” Mollicone later recalled Indro Montanelli’s expression: “‘If any of you wish to do this work, avoid temptation. Remember that this is a shortcut for fools'”.
