OL-PSG (2-3): “peak 1.07 million viewers”, a good audience for Sunday’s surprise in Ligue 1

PSG attracts a lot of people! The Ligue 1 clash played on Sunday evening, at the end of the 12th day of the French Football Championship, between the capital club and OL kept all its promises on the pitch with a spectacular and indecisive duel until the end (2-3) and was a hit among the audience.

According to the Ligue 1+ broadcaster, the poster actually gathered “an average of 903,000 viewers with a peak of 1.07 million viewers at the end of the match” to watch the Parisians win with a stoppage-time header from João Neves.

The platform, launched by the Football League this summer, shows it has achieved “an audience share of 4.9% over the past four years” and “11.3% among men aged 25-49 according to data provided by Médiamétrie”. Which makes Ligue 1+ the 3rd national channel to target this during the match period.

The match also allowed L1+ to record an “outstanding performance” on social networks with more than 37 million views, which is a championship day record since the start of the season.

The current Ligue 1+ viewership record remains a French football classic featuring OM’s historic win against PSG in September. The duel attracted an average of 1.2 million viewers and peaked at 1.4 million viewers.
