A 43-year-old man, suspected of stabbing the security manager of a bar in the Opera district, in Marseille, on the night of Saturday 8 November to Sunday 9 November, was arrested and brought to justice, ICI Provence (formerly France Bleu) learned Monday from the Marseille prosecutor’s office.

The murder occurred on the night of Saturday to Sunday, between 01.00 and 01.30. Doorman Little Temple Bar48 years old, tried to chase away a heavily drunk man, who was bothering his customers, on rue de la Paix-Marcel-Paul, between the Old Port and the Opera district, in Marseille. But the man returned and fatally stabbed him in the chest.

According to firefighters, the victim, who suffered chest injuries, experienced cardiac and respiratory arrest when help arrived. He could not be resuscitated. On site, emotions and lack of understanding remained overwhelming, ICI Provence said. In front of the bar had been placed flowers and candles.
