Serious accident in Munich: Five people were injured in a collision between two cars. Any help came too late for a four-year-old.

A four-year-old child died in a traffic accident in Munich. The crash occurred on Monday afternoon at an intersection in the Berg am Laim district, Munich police said.

A 37-year-old man from the Munich district was driving his Skoda on Kreillerstrasse at around 15.30. At the intersection with St.-Veit-Straße he wants to turn left. There were two four year old children in the back seat.

At the same time, a 60-year-old man from Munich was driving his BMW straight ahead on Kreillerstrasse. A 30-year-old woman sat next to him in the passenger seat.

The green arrow at the traffic light indicated green for the 37-year-old man. As he turned around, he collided with an oncoming BMW. All five passengers were injured and taken to hospital.

One of the two children suffered serious injuries and later died at the clinic. Both cars were totaled.

The intersection was closed for about three hours when the crash was recorded. Munich traffic police are now investigating the exact cause of the accident.
